Whether it's the pull of his food or his quick-witted charm, people keep coming back for more. With the might of his father Peter's success and reputation in the restaurant industry behind him, it's no wonder Dimitri's recipes are based on true Greek tradition and authenticity.

In August 2012, Dimitri opened Mykonos Taverna in Sea Point, followed by Mykonos Taverna in Newlands – each with a unique and encapsulating atmosphere.

Mykonos Taverna is a warm and welcoming Sea Point favourite, known for its lively family atmosphere and deep sense of community. Children love the food just as much as the adults, and the owner’s own kids are often around, adding to the homely feel. The restaurant’s iconic Greek Nights, held on the last Saturday of every month, bring the neighbourhood together with dancing, plate breaking, whiskey burning, and a festive three-course meal — making it a beloved gathering place for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and celebrations of every kind.
